We, many times, go through periods of loneliness and depression and think that we are the only ones who run the gamut of emotions. Charles Spurgeon wrote, "I am the subject of depressions of spirit so fearful that I hope none of you ever get to such extremes of wretchedness as I go to."  Here is perhaps the greatest preacher London has ever produced. Discouragement is no respecter of persons, but seems to hit all. It's not whether we will go through discouragement or not, it's where will we turn.  Paul says these words in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." It's so easy when we are discouraged to look to our own feelings and focus on ourselves. But God wants us to take our eyes off ourselves and realize all that God is to us. Our God is with us and He is the God of all comfort!
