Romans 3:23-24 says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus." Redemption is one of the most beloved and cherished terms for the believer. B.B. Warfield, the renowned theologian of the early part of the last century said, "there is not one of the titles of Christ which is more precious to Christian hearts than 'Redeemer.' Because this name is the name specifically of the Christ of the cross. Whenever we pronounce it, the cross is placarded before our eyes and our hearts are filled with loving remembrance not only that Christ has given us salvation, but He paid a mighty price for it." Many times, we are seen too theological, too abstract, too biblical. But we must remember, it is these precious truths and the understanding of them that truly give life and joy to our testimony. Our Redeemer lives and has paid the price for our sin. We are no longer in the slave market of sin. Sin has lost its sway over the heart of the Christian and now we are free to be His loving servants. Praise God, He is our Redeemer!
