Acts 4:12 says,"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved" The situation around ths statement arose when Christ healed a man through John and Peter. The man, who was lame from birth, ran around the temple praising God. This brought a crowd together and Peter began to preach. His message makes it obvious that what is at stake here is not mere opinion, but has universal application. Salvation, forgiveness of sin, a relationship with God, can only come through One name. That name is Jesus Christ. It is through His merits and sacrifice that we have obtained eternal life. In an age of pluralism, the mission of the local church is not a popular one. God has called us to the task of making and maturing believers for the glory of Jesus Christ. This is done through local churches planting local churches. Let's keep this thought in the forefront of our minds, and pray that God gives us such a zeal for His glory that we are willing to preach and testify to the lost.
