Paul states, "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). One thing many believers cannot answer is how the early believers became so bold in the proclamation of the Gospel. God took a handful of timid followers, who were so defeated and shaken at the death of Christ, and turned the course of human history. How? What was the difference? It was what was at the heart of the Apostles preaching and teaching: the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. These early believers became so bold and were even willing to forefeit their lives. They had seen Christ resurrected, and life had meaning and purpose. We need to remember that we serve a victorious Christ who is no longer on the cross, but who is alive and ever reigning and ruling. Ever feel frightened with this message? Remember, Christ lives!!!
