| I was reminded again this week of the beauty and simplicity of the gospel, and our responsibility to share this wonderful message. The essence of love and mercy is meeting the greatest need of individuals. We do that through the wonderful proclamation of the message of Christ crucified. The reason we are believers today is someone showed concern and love to show the staggering effects of our sin and the gracious forgiveness found in Christ alone. Many times when we consider that, our hearts swell up in joy. One of the true signs of growth and devotion to God is an overwhelming desire to do His will. We certainly like to highlight the things that we do well. But how about meetings sinners' greatest need? How often have we tried and succeeded in telling the wonderful story of our Savior? God has chosen us to preach and proclaim this message. This is the means that God has ordained drawing sinners to Himself. Romans 10:14 asks the question, "How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom thhey have not heart? And how will they hear without a preacher?" |
