David said in Psalm 139:13-14, "For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it well." David knew nothing of embryology as we know today, Yet, he knew enough to be awed at the complexity and beauty of our creation. If David was in awe, how about us? We know that each person is made up of microscopic cells that are so small that the letter "O" on a page could house thirty to forty thousand of them. Each microscopic cell contains an estimate of two trillion tiny atoms. The micro universe is unbelievably a world in itself. Every minute of every day three billion cells die in the body and three billion are created to take their place. David says more than "He created me," but "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." God has given all of this to engender faith and confidence in, and praise for, our great God. As we look at the created world and its complexity, let's be gripped with the God who spoke all of this into existence!!
