Jesus said in Revelation 22:13, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." These are the first and last letters in the Greek alphabet, and by using this formula, encapsulates the entire alphabet. The key to any communication or literature in any given language is the alphabet. What Christ is saying to encourage these saints at the end of the book of Revelation is that He is the entire revelation of God and their great hope. Christ is deity. All the attributes of God belong to Him and none of them fade, but shine in brilliance. All are perfectly balanced, and can be equally seen. He is matchless in kindness, flawless in righteousness, unequalled in holiness, unparalleled in faithfulness, faultless in justice, inexhaustible in love, super-abounding in grace, beyond comprehension in wisdom, totally caring in chastening, forever forgiving. This is our "Alpha and Omega"; our perfect Savior. All of these attributes are perfectly balanced. How balanced are we in character? What an encouragement that this is our God. This is the One we worship!!!
