As we celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have to ask ourselves to contemplate the central message of Christianity. Contrary to popular belief, it is not the Sermon on the Mount, or the message to love your neighbour as yourself. The message that changed the ancient world, and continues to change people today, is that humans are guilty and sinful before God. The cross shatters all pride and shows that none of us have any clout before God. The cross proves how unfathomable is the love of God, but also how ugly is our sin. The cross is the focal point of the message of Christianity. Modern minds have a hard time with the cross, so they have tried to change the message. What we celebrate today is that Jesus Christ has done it all. His work was so complete that death could not even keep Christ. We are thankful for times of remembrance. Let us take this opportunity to revel and worship once again in the Author and Finisher of our faith - Jesus Christ!!
