A. W. Tozer said, "the first step down for any church is taken when it surrenders its high view of God." A subtle change has taken place in churches across the Northern Hemisphere: we have become so saturated with television and entertainment that we've lost the ability to enter into worship during our services. We've changed from being a participator to a spectator. We've created personalities when God should be the only Personality that we yearn to please. We sing and we listen to the sermon to see what we can "get" out of it. But worship is to give honour to a superior, in this case God. We do not come to "get" but to "give". When we gather for worship, our consuming desire is to give Him the praise due His name. We give ourselves and our attitude totally to God. The amazing thing is that God gives us so much in return. We, many times, have a greater capacity to see His divine beauty. Revelation 4:11 says, "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honour and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."
