Many people ask, "How can I grow as a Christian? How can I grow in love and devotion to Jesus Christ?" Unfortunately, many ask that question hoping for a quick fix; hoping that they'll be able to take some giant spiritual leap and have all of their problems disappear. But the Christian life is not like that. It is the consistent living for Christ day in and day out. It is growing in the knowledge of His Word through deliberate Bible study. It is a consistent prayer life and committed attendance at services. It is throught these avenues that we cultivate, not only a changed life, but a love for Christ. Part of our sin natures is wanting a quick fix. If you do not like your relationship with Christ today, then somethings has to change in your life. If you continue on the same path, you'll be the same person tomorrow. God wants us to help others to see Christ. Philippians 2:12 commands us to "work out your salvation with fear and trembling." There is that word 'work'. We are to labour to be changes into the image of Christ. Let's not be buy into the lies that Christian growth can be found outside of the Word of Christ!
