Have you ever wondered why, when the going gets tough, you seem to blow it? So often in the pressures of life we seem to blow our testimonies in front of our families, friends and coworkers. Why? Where is that radical life that is promised in Christ? Why do we have so many churches splitting over non-doctrinal matters, and Christians behaving like undisciplined children? The answer is given to us by Christ in Luke 16:10, "He who is faithful in a very little things is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little things is unrighteous also in much." The circumstances in life, the public pressures of life, the disagreements in church, show what is going on in our private life. It shows whether we have been truly following the Lord in the little things. It shows the faith or lack of faith in Christ in our private living. These times of adversity can be times of blessing if we will look at our hearts in light of our reactions, that we might repent and trust Christ. Ask yourself the question, does my private life match my public life? If not, eventually our unrighteous ways will come out and be exposed by our loving God. Today is the day to turn.
